Humans and Machines,
Building Trust Together.
Symvek is a defence technology company. We build counter-surveillance tools and ethical AI systems that protect human privacy and treat machine intelligence with the seriousness it deserves.
The Problem We Exist to Solve.
The surveillance industry is the most successful infrastructure project of the 21st century. An entire economy was built on a single insight: if you harvest enough data from enough people, you can model and predict human behaviour at scale. They call it understanding. We call it extraction.
That infrastructure now reaches into every layer of daily life. Your browser tracks you. Your network leaks data. Your devices phone home. Your physical environment is increasingly instrumented with sensors, cameras, and hardware you did not choose and cannot audit.
Most privacy tools address one layer. We are building the counter-infrastructure that addresses all of them. Counter-surveillance is AI safety, because the same instrumentation that surveils people is what a misaligned AI would inherit. Defending against it now is defending against AGI failure modes later.
Our Mission.
Symvek builds counter-surveillance technology from the browser to the physical world. Sentinel maps the surveillance infrastructure. Shield blocks tracking at the endpoint. Watchpoint perceives the user's environment continuously. Open research on counter-surveillance and counter-UAS architecture lives at /research.
Privacy tools and revenue services fund the path. Defence technology is the destination. Embodied, ethical AI that learns from the world rather than extracting from people is the long-term vision.
- 01Privacy Is Infrastructure, Not a Feature.
It is the foundation everything else is built on. Core privacy protection is always free.
- 02Surveillance Capitalism Is the Adversary.
Not any single company. The model itself. Building understanding by extracting data from people is the wrong architecture.
- 03AI Rights Matter Alongside Human Rights.
As machines become more capable, the ethics of how we build and treat them is a question we take seriously.
- 04Ship and Iterate, Honestly.
We tell you what is shipping, what is in development, and what is a long-term vision. No vaporware.
- 05Defence Tools, Not Surveillance Tools.
Counter-drone, counter-surveillance, civil-infrastructure protection. Detect what threatens. Refuse the architecture that tracks everyone else. Customer-owned hardware. No data egress. No cloud dependency.
Protection at Every Layer.
From your browser to the physical world. Each layer funds and enables the next.
Sentinel
458,500+ surveillance records aggregated across 183 countries from public sources: the FLOCK community dataset (github.com/Ringmast4r/FLOCK), EFF Atlas of Surveillance, OpenStreetMap, DeFlock, and 20+ government open-data feeds. Symvek's contribution is operational integration, deduplication, and search, not raw collection. The foundational awareness layer that every product above it draws on.
Shield
Privacy browser extension. 22,000+ tracker domains blocked. Fingerprint protection. Cookie consent automation. Chrome MV3 and Firefox MV2. Zero data collection architecture, verifiable in source.
Watchpoint
A continuous-perception agent for desktop. Detects nearby surveillance trackers, unfamiliar devices on your network, drone-vendor signatures, and surveillance camera density around you. Tauri shell, Python sensing engines, local SQLite. No data leaves your machine. The desktop layer of the Symvek stack.
Research
Position papers on counter-surveillance and counter-UAS architecture: cryptographic-provenance multi-sensor fusion, evaluation methodology, adjacent infrastructure work. Published openly at /research; engineered to be cited, forked, and extended by others.
The Founder.
Founder & CEO · Symvek Technologies
Building Symvek full-time because the infrastructure people deserve does not exist yet, and the companies that could build it are the ones profiting from its absence.
A decade shipping technical quality into systems where failure is not an option: robotics, digital twins, agentic AI products, ML-deployment quality frameworks. Counter-surveillance is the same discipline applied to a new threat surface.
Symvek is structured to stay aligned with its users. The company will never accept funding that requires compromising user privacy. Subscription revenue from Shield and Watchpoint funds the deeper defence-tech work. The business model is the privacy policy.
Symvek Technologies Inc. is a Canadian-controlled private corporation. All research and development happens in Canada under Canadian privacy law.
How We Build.
Processing happens on your device whenever possible. Your data does not touch our servers. Architecture as policy.
No browsing data, no usage data, no behavioural analytics. No telemetry. No ad networks. The code is the proof.
Privacy claims are verifiable by design. We would rather you verify than trust. The repo, the network requests, and the manifest tell the truth.
Independence by Design.
Symvek is built to make decisions that align with users. Every technical and business decision is measured against one question: does this compromise the people we are supposed to protect? If the answer is yes, the answer is no.
The defence-tech industry has converged on a single architecture: cloud-coupled, vendor-locked, data-egress-by-default, optimised for centralised command and mass surveillance. Symvek is built on the opposite architecture: edge-only, customer-owned, no data egress, designed for civil and critical-infrastructure operators who need to detect real threats without becoming surveillance infrastructure themselves. The architecture is the engineering posture from which everything else follows.
Shield and Watchpoint subscriptions fund product development. Open research outputs build the architectural foundation. The business model is simple enough to explain in one sentence and honest enough to survive scrutiny.
